1. I made a link to Ricmedia PC Help using a logo on one of your pages but I am seeing an error page, a red cross or nothing, why?

In order to keep our website theme consistent across the internet we ask that you please use the logos and code located on the Linking help and code page instead of copying the logo from another page. This enables us to change the design or styling of the logo (although not the size or type of file format) and also accurately gauge back-links to our website. These logos are specifically designed and optimized for linking.

2. I have placed a Ricmedia PC Help Flash tool, video or other content on my site but all I see is an error page, a red cross or nothing, why?

We ask that you do not hotlink to any resources on our site but instead, just a simple hyperlink to the page that has the multimedia content. Hotlinking is when you link directly to a file hosted on our servers inside your HTML code.

For example, in the following tag:

<img src="http://www.ricmedia.com/tools/somepic.jpg" width="10" height="10" />

…the source attribute is pointing to our servers and may be blocked. Please visit our Linking help and code page for more info and code that will work on your website.

3. I am trying to view a video or use a tool but all I see is a blank square or missing plugin advisory, why?

To view these resources you will need the free Adobe Flash Player suitable for your browser. It is quick and easy to install and takes only a few minutes after-which you can use all the free Flash tools, video and other content on our website.

Get Adobe Flash Player

4. I am trying to play an audio resource on your website but nothing happens when I click the MP3 link, why?

To listen to MP3 audio content on our website you will require a media player installed on your system. Some common media players are listed below.

  • Windows Media Player (bundled with Windows operating systems)
  • VLC Media Player (Windows/Linux/MacOSX/other – free + open source)
  • Apple Quicktime or iTunes (Windows/MacOS – basic version free)
  • Kaffeine (KDE/Linux – free + open source)
  • MPlayer (Windows/Linux/MacOSX/others – free + open source)
  • RealPlayer (Windows/Linux/MacOSX/others – basic version free)
  • Comparison of media players at Wikipedia.org

Some other reasons why this may happen are your browsers security settings, popup blockers and security software. Please check these settings as you may have to put pchelp.ricmedia.com in your exceptions list.

5. How do I subscribe to your RSS feeds?

You will need either an RSS news reader or a browser that has native support for RSS. The latest versions of most popular browsers all support reading and subscribing to RSS feeds including: Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Chrome and Opera browsers. Some other news readers are RssReader, FeedDemon and RSSOwl.

6. How do I subscribe to your email newsletter?

Easy, simply visit our newsletter page and enter your email address, first name, last name and click the Submit button. You will need to confirm your email address before the subscription is active, but once that is done, you will then start receiving my newsletter with all sorts of goodies including the latest guitar lessons.

7. I have a computer or technical related question, can I email you for an answer?

Yep sure, just visit the contact page and ask away!

8. I have another question or issue not listed here

Please contact me and I will try and resolve the issue.
